Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare

5.0

These books truly just get better and better as they go on.
We don't only dive into the immense world of Shadowhunters, but these books discuss political issues that ring too close to home at the moment. They teach acceptance, normalize "untraditional" characters - adding a beautiful manage-a-trois love, tackle homosexuality and even a brilliant transgender character. Cassandra Clare is unafraid to write about whatever she wants and make every single person in her book so complex, it's hard to separate good and bad.

I cannot tell you the amount of times I laughed out loud or cried while reading this series, and I truly cannot wait to find out more!
The end - as always - leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy, but with the apprehension that the worse has yet to arrive.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars to this series....
