This Cursed Light by Emily Thiede

3.0

Overall this was a good conclusion to the first book. It was nice to get out of Saverio for this one and see more of the world (Itlay, basically) and meet some new characters. That being said, Talia was a very polarizing character for me. I understood the point of her in the story and thought she was a strong character, but then she would say incredibly cringey, immature things about the fonti and Alessa which just felt so out of place. I know this is a YA book and I always try to adjust my expectations when I read out of my age range (how would I have received this when I was the target demographic), but I don't think glitter goons would have hit for me then either.
