Before I Let Go wrecked me, made me laugh, and gave me hope.

Marriage is hard, and I think most married people will find parts of Yasmen and Josiah's love story -- and the fallout of a shitty hand they're dealt -- relatable. I've never experienced their exact traumas, but their journeys clenched my heart. Rooting for them felt like betting on devotion and commitment as a whole.

The characters in Before I Let Go were so well written, and the dialogue so on point, that they could have come to life and sat next to me and I wouldn't have bat an eye. I felt like an eavesdropper in some of the most raw and intimate moments of Yas and Josiah's lives. I felt like the fourth gal in Yas' friend group.

That's probably the best review I could give this book: I felt. Every heartache. Every flinch. Every tear. Every joy.
