This book is incredible. I was so intensely invested in the characters and what was going to happen to them that my stomach hurt. Definitely not an easy, comfortable read--this world is incredibly oppressive to women and racial minorities, to a stressful level. But the path to dismantling the oppressive systems of Tiran is soooo satisfying, even as it comes at the cost of the main characters' safety. Beautiful and  devastating.
