I didn’t know what to expect going into this book, I knew it was about war and had something to do with a training academy, and that was about it. I was surprised how much I found myself enjoying the writing style and character interactions. The book definitely takes a turn and gets very dark but I appreciate it. This book depicts real war, the horrible things humans do to each other, how sometimes we look to another group and don’t even think of them as human.
This book definitely needs trigger warnings but none were there just for the sake of it, this all feels real and horrific. I will definitely be continuing on but might take a breather first.
