this book is a literary masterpiece. We have studied this book in class and whatever I write here does not feel sufficient to summarize the thoughts and feelings I have accumulated over the months. I'm in awe of Milton's talent. My only problem with him is his sexism and his inability to reconcile emotions with reason in his world. Constructed in line with his own agenda and rational streak, Paradise Lost even has God speaking in sarcastic ways. Though sometimes Milton's inspiration seems to escape his deliberate construction and there are a lot of ambiguous points shining through. Eve is the most interesting character in the book due to this ambiguity. Even though Milton applies his sexist opinions in his narration, Eve always seems to have something more than suggested. I will be coming back to this book over the years there is so much to unpack and discover.
