Went into this book due to numerous recommendations about the series. Honestly? I highly recommend it.
The beginning was a bit slow. But once we hit a few chapters in when Mare was in the kingdom it was beautifully done, I was hooked on her plan and the action until the very end.
I do have to admit I stopped reading it mid-way and thought it would end up on my DNF list, although I kept thinking about it and decided to read the final chapters and I'm so glad I did. The ending was well executed, kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. As the story went on I felt more connected with Mare's character and in the end, I was really surprised to see who she ended up surviving this story with.
