Kill Alex Cross
by James Patterson
3 stars for the following reasons:
Reason 1) I almost gave up on this book. I found it dragging on and I just couldn't get into the book. I feel the book are becoming very much written with the same (good selling) formula. I like my books to be different. This book just didn't drag me into the story, it dragged on and just wasn't gripping me like the first in the series did (this is book 18 in the series and I haven't read any of the others).
Reason 2) The 2nd story line just didn't make any sense. It didn't contribute at all to the main story line and to me just acted as a filler to make the book seem more complex. It didn't, it was needless stuffing. It was like air in a bag of potatoes, you are hopeful when you get the bag that it will be full of yumminess, but all you get is a half bag of something and the rest is filled with air.
To bad, I really had hoped after I decided to continue reading that I would enjoy it. The main story was interesting. At the end it skipped a bit too much for me and the plot made jumps that didn't make sense to the writer. James Patterson being who he is, gets away with that with his editor obviously. Overall, not a bad book, but definitely not a great one either. Not to be remembered or re-read, this one goes in the box for the 2nd hand shop :).
