In the House of Transcendence by Amanda Ross

3.5

The synopsis of this book had me hooked! I loved getting lost in this world as all aspects are very interesting! We have Zora who is a necromancer and is now living in Savannah. She meets another witch and this is where Zora is introduced to a community that she was missing. The burlesque club was a favorite aspect of mine! The author described these scenes amazingly! Now the murder mystery of this is what I think needs some better planning. Some parts did not make much sense and others felt lacking and short. This is also how I felt about Zora’s past. There was so much more I wish the author could have given us in order to fully understand all of Zora and her newfound community. I definitely loved the found family trope in this. This is perfect if you’re looking for a quick short read!
