Ghachar Ghochar by Vivek Shanbhag

5.0

A novella at 119 pages, Vivek Shanbag's first book to be published in English is a wonder in its true way.

What one might think as a typical rags to riches story of a South Indian family in Bangalore, India turns out to be so much more layered and interesting. The book starts with a mix of the glorious Indian coffee house and Koshy's in Church Street in the city. Or am I wrong? Please do correct me if I am.
