I wasn’t sure what to expect when I received this book. I’ve read Emilia’s other books, so I shouldn’t be surprised by this book. I love it when an author really does their research on certain characters disabilities. I fell so in love with Sofiya and Matteo so much that it makes me so hopeful for a love like this. I may not have disabilities like this but a girl can dream to be doted and loved on, right?

From the moment Matteo was brought in, I knew he was going to be hardheaded and just so lovely. He didn’t want to have feelings for his beautiful wife, but he couldn’t stop. From the moment, he tasted her cookies and not knowing they were the ones she baked, he was done for.

The bath scene when he took care of her, ugh, I just fell in love with him in how much he wanted to take care of her. And I love how Romeo, Angelo and Sienna are with her. So sweet!

And Matteo and Romeo crack me up, especially when it comes to her baking skills. The strawberry shortcake scene had me dying with laughter when Romeo ran out with the pan in hand. And they all loved her cooking and baking in the end.

And the smut scenes were so spicy! The fact that Matteo was so careful and got her the pillows and cushions so she wouldn’t hurt… ugh, so sweet and caring. Like c’mon, he got her a service animal, who is the sweetest dog ever!

I don’t even know why I was surprised by how well she wrote out the actually fighting scenes during the end of the book. And I loved how he replaced her boring wedding ring with one that suited her and even got assistance to get the right ring for his lovely wife.

I really hope she makes this a series so we can see the stories for the side characters. I really wanted more of this story and I was so sad to see this story end. It was everything and then some for these two. I still cannot believe that this was her first mafia romance because just… wow!
