I struggled with this one quite hard from time to time but managed to finish it finally. The story was quite confusing, seemingly random from time to time. The characters were also really strange and not really relatable for me. Also, the signature gruesomeness (familiar from the Lecter novels) surfaces every now and then, these moments felt to be to shock or even disgust the reader, but seemed totally unnecessary for the development of the story.

The writing though is really, exceptionally beautiful.
