paulavanessa 's review for:
Walden
by Henry David Thoreau
inspiring
reflective
slow-paced
Absolutely a must-read for anyone who has sensed even an innate and intimate call for nature and the desire to simply be in it.
The book surprised me from the start, as I was not expecting relate to and share so many thoughts with someone, especially a man, who lived nearly three centuries ago.
Thoreau, who I didn't know before, now feels to me like an old friend that I've always known and for some reason had to depart to a different state.
He seemed to be a unique soul, who by living so freely and truly, left an immeasurable gift: the remembrance of where we came from and where we live, if we just choose to do so in our own means.
Farewell, it was a pleasure to meet you in essence.
