*I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review*
In 1975, in Indiana, Wikinson High School starts the first ever women's basketball team. As time goes on, the girls start to realize the inequality of their team vs. the boy's team and begin to speak up. As their success rises, so do their voices.
This was an extremely fast graphic novel, that I completed in about half an hour. The author's note in the back was my favourite part, stating that the three main characters, Judi, Lisa and Cindy were based on real people and that this story is loosely based on what happened to them. I liked the overall message that women's sports should be just as important as their male counterparts - and I loved how by the end of the book, things were moving towards equality for the girls. I liked the vibrant colours and art style. I think this is a great choice for kids getting into graphic novels!
