One of the main aspects to brandon Sanderson’s writing that I feel he’s usually missing is romance. This book is his attempt at writing a romance novel and it makes me wish he focused more on that in his other books because it’s very well done (although admittedly I don’t read many romance novels). I’d say that this book’s plot is interesting but nothing special for the first 80-90% of the book and then it really picks up at the end. The setting was also quite different from other cosmere books. Although it’s a standalone book, I would highly recommend reading this after his other books (mistborn, Stormlight, warbreaker, etc.)
