I really loved this read! I’d been meaning to get to it for ages, ‘cause the aesthetics felt right up my alley with that gorgeous cover and the series named ‘Southern Reach’, but I just took a while to finally read it. Annihilation absolutely lived up to my hopes! For some reason, I’d been expecting something much more Alien adjacent, and I was pleasantly surprised with the unnaturally natural environment that surrounded the story! I love how it attempted to explain things, but always left things open ended and slightly philosophical, and I just generally enjoyed everything about the style, the atmosphere, and the characters! Amazing character development, imagery, and world building. I’d recommend this to anyone, even non-sci-fi lovers like myself.
