I've only read one Sanderson novella before so I'm not familiar with this universe or his writing style but I am aware he is very popular. I liked this book, it was fun and a bit cozy with its found family and Princess Bride vibes. I'm glad that Sanderson said that this was inspired by the idea of Buttercup going out to look for Was early because all I could think was that this felt like "How Wesley became the Dread Pirate Roberts" but gender swapped.
There are a lot of similes. Everything is a simile. I'm also not the biggest fan of first person narration (but that's a personal taste). And the twist is pretty obvious as the clues are all there by the time you get half way through the books so I wasn't very surprised. It was still a nice read though.
