I passed this up from BOTM and then regretted it instantly. So I was very excited when @simonandschuster sent me an arc!
This was more of a murder mystery/family drama than a thriller but I was invested to say the least. I don’t normally love slow burns, but the pieces of the past were relevant and gave clues into what was happening in the present day.
The writing was so great, I felt like I knew the characters intimately. I really loved June and Willa’s relationship towards the end and I just hope they have a happy ending. I don’t think I’ve ever said this about a murder mystery, but this could 100% have a sequel
