There is generally a lot of war in this series, and this book is no different; in fact, it has somewhat less fighting than previous volumes. However, there are still descriptions of violence, including a character losing a hand (temporarily—it is repaired with magic) , but even this is not described in too graphic a way. There are also torture scenes which mostly involve using hot irons, strange bugs that crawl under the skin (but don’t do much more than cause pain), and gaslighting/mental manipulation , but no sexual violence. There are also several mentions/descriptions of atomic bombs and their effects, though they are not named as such and it’s in a fantasy-like way.
