Drawn Together by Minh Lê

5.0

What a powerful double-punch of talent. Minh Lê’s story combined with Dan Santat’s magical, lush illustrations conveys the frustrating emotion of language barriers, be they actual spoken language or generational, and the joy of finding a common thread. The words are sparse in this beautiful book and, thus, rely heavily on the artwork to tell the story and express feelings. A do-not-miss on both Minh Lê and Dan Santat’s bibliographies.
