This book will stick with me for a bit. The reflection into the Bethie and Jo’s relationships with each other, with their significant others, with their friends and families. Sister relationships are different.
I don’t think this read is for everyone. This book has a lot of powerful topics: sexual assault and the “me too” movement, LGBTQ+ relationships, fitting into society when you’re a different, coming from a minority and not standing up for other minorities, the historical context of all of these issues. It’s political in the best way - it’s not telling you think a certain way, it just makes you think about these topics.
