How to Stop Time by Matt Haig

5.0

It's a rather heartbreaking (but ultimately uplifting) story of a person who ages very, very slowly. It explores his many lifetimes, lost loves, and current difficulties. I didn't expect this to be a grief book, but it was and I ended up really loving it.

Favorite quotes that hit me in the feels:

“People you love never die. That is what Omai had said, all those years ago. And he was right. They don't die. Not completely. They live in your mind, the way they always lived inside you. You keep their light alive. If you remember them well enough, they can still guide you, like the shine of long-extinguished stars could guide ships in unfamiliar waters.”

And:

“To talk about memories is to live them a little.”

I think I need to buy a paper copy so I can highlight things. I listened to the audiobook and it was lovely.
