Enter a Murderer by Ngaio Marsh

3.0

Second case of DCI Alleyn. We meet Nigel Bathgate again, the young journalist introduced in A Man Lay Dead. An actor is killed on stage when blank cartridge are switch for real ones and a prop gun becomes a deadly instrument. The plot moves along merrily and is twisted enough to keep the interest of the reader. Alleyn's relationship with his detectives is engaging and Marsh succeeds in making us part of the investigating team. An entertaining little mystery.
