Sisterhood of Dune
by Brian Herbert, Kevin J. Anderson
I love the Duneiverse. I will always love it. I love the movie and the mini series and the books. All of the books.
But some books I love more than others. And Frank Herbert's are like a burning sun to the sputtering candle of what has come after.
I just felt that this book (and its brethren) contain this weird duopoly of lecturing exposition (butlerian jihad good/bad) mixed with personal stories of tragedy, heroism and the stuff of legend.
I sink myself into the latter, feeling the world. I abhor the former: I don't want to read a book like a history essay about a fictional universe.
