Never thought I would say this, however at the same time I am surprised it took me so long to get to such a point given the smutty books I usually read, but the sex scene ruined it all for me πŸ˜‚ The book started off strong but just after that first sex scene it all went downhill for me. The whole moment was so cringe and I got the ick so many times. I hate the way that in these books it's seems to be a common thing that the women are soooo uneducated and inexperienced in sex that they always need the men to guide them and show them the ropes in anything related to sex is super unappealing to me. I understand it was kind of normal for back then, in the time period that these books are supposed to be set in but coooomeee on. The fact that the women don't even know when their own arousal is happening and that they can have an orgasm or what that even is... Yeah. No thank you, happy we are not in that era anymore. I had very high hopes for this as I actually loved the second season of Bridgerton, which is based on this book. But I guess I can only blame myself for setting myself up for disappointment in this way. I just ended up despising book Anthony at the end. Whereas, screen Anthony, even though I had a very love hate relationship with him, he still managed to somehow find himself a sweet spot in my heart throughout the series. However, it totally could have been the fact that he is played by a handsome gay actor which I secretly not so secretly pine afterπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ’–
