Great story, but the dialogues left a lot to be desired. The behavior of the H/h are typical of romance novels more than 20 years ago, the man behaves like an arrogant, egotistical jerk, and the woman like a screeching harpy, proffering insults and aggravating the man to no end. It got old very fast. I liked that Riley worked at a house for abused children and that she is so dedicated to them. Colton got her dedication and he joins forces, dedicating funds to help her charitable foundation. As they get to know each other, details about their broken past come up and they comfort each other. Colton is a bit stubborn, not wanting to share but he gets that Riley sees and accepts the broken boy inside of him. The book ends with a cliffhanger.
