Bit of a slog to get through. It had the makings of a great fantasy book with an interesting fantasy system. I found the writing a bit lacking in some areas especially with the characters. Some motivations were too black n white. I prefer a show not tell style of story writing and this one felt a bit basic. Would probably put it at 2.5 as I almost did not finish it. But give props to the somewhat original plot - would’ve been great with less focus on everyyyy singleeeee action point and just focused on key areas. I don’t needed to know every detail unless it progresses the plot! Ah well
