Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo

The experiences of twelve womxn in the UK, across different generations, different backgrounds and different areas of the country.
Really enjoyed this - refreshing to read about black experiences in the UK (rather than the US). I loved how the chapters were stand alone but there were threads of connection between them all (reminded me of Love Actually). The writing style threw me for the first few pages, but once I had adjusted, I was readily swept along through the different stories. The strength of these very different womxn ultimately left me feeling hopeful.
