I was forced to read this. Like honest-to-god forced to read this for my girlfriend so they had someone to talk to about it. I don't like Colleen Hoover. I have sworn her off. But damn it did I like Verity.

The writing style was nothing spectacular. The characters lacked any real personality. Lowen is so isolated, and I hate it. I know why it is done, but this book and pretty much all the relationships and interactions in it are so toxic. I legitimately do not understand why this is considered a romance. Verity and Jeremy have sex, great.
Jeremy ultimately manipulates Lowen into having sex.
Maybe that's romance and I'm not dating right. Is this like... straight person love? I digress. I think that this book does fall flat in many places, but I could not put it down.

The reason my rating is so high is because I could not put the book down. I was so intrigued about the twist that my girlfriend kept mentioning. Reading the ending of Verity, I physically had to stop and process what the hell was going on. While I may not agree with the ending, it was good and had me thinking. I'm still thinking about it.
