I enjoyed this book, but I struggled. On one hand the magic system/world building was overwhelming in the beginning, however the writing felt too simple at times. I loved the actual plot, the world, the dragons, but there were times I felt tired. If you can take away one thing from my review please, please, PLEASE do not go anywhere near the family tree. I was warned but I didn’t listen and it was a huge spoiler.
