The beautiful cover matches the interiors impeccably written love story. No knowledge of Critical Role is needed to appreciate Guinevere and Oskar’s journey. I anticipated this being like Legends and Lattes, which it is to some extent, but I was surprised by the explicit scenes (given it’s a romance I shouldn’t have been … but still I was lol). Some characters I greatly enjoyed: Vindicator, Pudding, & Teinidh.
Detraction of partial star bc Fitzalbert, Lord Wensleydale, did not need to turn out to be such a pompous ass (I mean I suppose it matches his revealed character in the end and the story’s depiction of the upper crust; however I think it would’ve made Guinevere’s choosing of Oskar stronger to have her not be find out she chose to not marry a limp noodle of a “man”). I despise Illiard, and don’t agree with Guinevere’s choice to give her parents the ring (they don’t deserve anything), though I understand why she did it.
