It pains me to rate this so low but I have a few opinions.. first the good ones

- I loved Lyra and Grayson. The communication, the bond they share? Beautiful!
- Gigi being the funny badass character we learned to love? Yes please! I enjoyed her chapters so much, even if Eve appeared, and I can't stand that girl. Not one bit. Also Mattias Slater? If Gigi doesn't want him I'll take him thank you.
- Eve being humbled by Lyra AND Gigi? Yes please. At this point I even feel sad for Eve, cause she just seems pathetic. It's funny really. Also need Lyra and Gigi as a duo in the next book, I think they'll be besties!
- Rohan and Savannah? Yes pls. That's it, I love them. But Savannah really got on my nerves sometimes..

Now to the confusing/dissapointing stuff

- a cult. Really now? I don't understand the need for this.. it's clear that JLB is dragging this out to give us a third book, but imo that is unnecessary
- Jameson not trusting Lyra in the beginning? Fair.
Jameson still not trusting her when Grayson said she was not a thread? Especially when he knows Grayson doesn't trust easily? Weird.
Him crashing out because Avery is gone? I feel him, my babies :((
But him literally telling his brother and Lyra (future sister-in-law btw) to "go to hell?" Totally out of character. Come in, this is Jameson we're talking about. Yes him and Grayson have a complicated relationship.. but all that character development Jameson went through? That's not the Jameson I know. I feel like JLB did that to have this "fight" at the end of the book somehow, and I hate it..
- Avery being kidnapped. My girl can never catch a break :( she's smart, she'll be fine- but still, my girl went through so much, and now she just poof vanished? My poor girl..

Overall I enjoyed reading it, but I balled my eyes out for the last 100 pages, especially because of Jamesons words, so I can't give higher than that.. I hope Jamesons character redeems himself in the next book.
Also: my guess is that we are gonna get Jamesons pov in the gilded blade as well as Avery's in some way.. there's no way Jamesons pov isn't gonna be there- and he better redeem himself for telling his brother to go to hell, thank you. I still love him tho :(
