The audiobook narrator’s dialogue voices were often annoying, making me want to ignore it all together. The overall story was good, but the travel time between places often didn’t make sense - travel happened in a blink of an eye. 

Also - small spoiler here - 
The adoptive mother tricking them adult son to love/sleep with her was pretty gross. And then she built and destroyed the world because of that unrequited love.
