This story about a broken family just kinda meandered. Lots of foreshadowing that was missing, or didn’t lead anywhere, and a really grim conclusion which didn’t tie up all the mice quotients it needed to. Scary for sure, but that’s about it.

The protagonists weren’t super high on the likability scale, which is fine, but the author didn’t increase their skill or proactivity to balance it out, and this just kind makes the reader go “what’s the point of it all”
