I really liked this book although I didn't read the 1st book ... The Extraordinaries ... so that left me at a slight disadvantage (will be dded to my TBR pile)
This book reminded me a little of Perry Moore's Heroes (gay teen coming to terms with life) but this book has so much to offer in regards to diversity, current affairs (POC and American police) with some great characters.
Is is lacking originality hence the 4/5 but it's really difficult when you are leaning on an already heaving genre of the Superhero World. Even saying that, it's well worth a read.
