piburnjones 's review for:
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
by J.K. Rowling
On the umpteenth read (though the first in quite a while), what really struck me was how HUGE Hogwarts feels in this book. Corridors and galleries and empty rooms and Harry getting lost all over the place. As he gets older (and learns all the secret passages), it seems to shrink.
Which, oddly, is the inverse of what happens in the movies, since they were able to build more and more sets each time around.
Goddamn, I love these books.
