Cecilia is searching for her injured brother, but finds his best friend in the hospital instead. She is determined to help at least one soldier so she settles in to help Edward recover. When she is turned away for not being family she tells a little white lie that snowballs into a full blown situation. Since Edward is in a coma what harm can it do to claim to be his wife. I loved the main characters. Cecilia has no one but her brother so desperate actions were taken to try and find him. She is a very good nurse maid to Edward and she cares about him. The more lies she has to tell, the more guilt she feels. This was never part of the plan. Edward looks forward to the letters his best friend gets from his sister Cecilia. Eventually he starts adding his own messages to her in Thomas' letters. When he wakes up from his coma he recognizes Cecilia despite his memory loss. He assumes he must have married her at Thomas' request. I love Edward's character. He is the perfect gentleman until he isn't. Cecilia is a strong female who is dealt a bad hand and takes it upon herself to fix it. Loved this story. Great read!
