Nine Liars by Maureen Johnson
2.0
Nine characters is way too many, I found myself forgetting who they were as they were not fleshed out. The pacing was way off, we spend pages and pages hearing about the history and architecture, and hardly any pages on the actual compelling points of the mystery.
The one who was the murderer, Peter (I think is his name? I forget there were too many of them) had a pretty weak motive, honestly it would have been more satisfying if it was literally anyone else.
I've accepted that these books are simply my guilty pleasure, they will always be lack luster, disappointing, and borderline infuriating. But, I'll read the next one.
Also- Sebastian and Alexander Vass from If We Were Villains are the exact same character.
