We had to read this book in sixth grade English class and I have never quite gotten over that trauma. Our teacher did a great job but I just always thought of how much of a slog it was to get through, when you needed to write homework on it and the chapters were so LONG.

I think not wanting to reread the second book was one of the reasons why I took year and multiple attempts to actually finish the series.
And this was actually my first time rereading this one and I had such a good time? This book is still relatively low stakes and so cozy and young. The characters feel young and I felt like a kid just by their side.
One of the strongest attributes of this book is it's pacing. It was so easy to get through because no scene seemed to be dragging on, the plot and the character with it, moved swiftly and organically. Nothing felt forced or over the top.

I don't know if it's realistic that I'll continue rereading the series anytime soon, but after finishing it, at least for a couple of days, that was all I really wanted to do...
