Love, Utley by S.J. Tilly

emotional funny fast-paced

5.0

THIS STORY!! I ate up every minute of this book…especially on audio!!!!!😍😍 S.J. Tilly has quickly become an autobuy author for me this year and this book was such an addicting read! It all begins with a letter, longing and angst only to transform into a forbidden workplace romance, so much palpable chemistry, all the vibes of it’s always been you and a man who is totally gone for her!! This is book one of the Love Letters series and it was just such an amazingly well written story!!

It’s Always Been You

Hannah and Maddox meet in college and instantly connect and have a week long romance. Things happen and Hannah has to leave college but she makes sure to leave a letter behind for Maddox. Fast forward to 15 years later and Maddox is now a retired football player and a new owner to the company Hannah works at. What happens when their paths finally cross again after so many years apart?

S.J. Tilly pullllled at my heart at first with that 15 year time jump BUT just keep reading because she handled this whole plot beautifully!! Nothing is dragged out and you get their genuine feelings and emotions over what happened and that time lost. I loved watching the progression of their dynamic develop while also seeing how this big bulky athlete was such a simp for his Hannah🥹 And Hannah’s family incorporated into the whole story was the absolute sweetest thing ever!!!

One of my favorite things about an SJ Tilly book is the short chapters! I love seeing the POVs switch back and forth so quickly, even within the same scene as you get to hear each of their thoughts within a moment. It makes the story feel so fast paced even when you have the angst and tenstion going on at the same time. And also, I LOVED the surprise POVs added in!
