Perfectly Famous
by Emily Liebert
This book is less about the famous author, Ward Defleur, and more about Bree Bennett, the new divorcee and mother of an angst-ridden teenager. For most of the book, the suspense is kept pretty high except Bree's obliviousness to her daughter's troubles was annoying. I thought perhaps this treatment was going to connect back to the story but it doesn't. What a huge diversion! Then we get to the last 10-20% of the book. It was like someone had started a fine art drawing, stopped, grabbed a 4 year old with crayons, and had them finish. It was like a completely different author, lacking the finesse that we expect from Ms. Liebert, wrote the ending of the book. The actions of the characters seemed wrong, the way events unfolded seemed wrong, even the writing style seemed changed. So 4 stars for the first majority of the book and 2 for the last bit.
Thanks to the author for a copy of the book. This review is my own opinion.
