Volume 8, and I'm enjoying this series more with every book. Basically everything I already said about [b:The Valley of Bones|363240|The Valley of Bones (A Dance to the Music of Time, #7)|Anthony Powell|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1345421417l/363240._SY75_.jpg|353315] still holds true and I'm sticking with this set of books for the long haul, which after reading 8/12 you could probably have guessed. This one is more interesting when it gets away from the army setting for a while, but putting Nick and Widmerpool as close colleagues in the army is illuminating.
