dark emotional reflective slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Surreal and reflective and deeply personal. Strange but conventionally strange. The way characters change and shift as the narrator grows was fascinating to me- watching her journey was both delightful and incredibly raw. How Broder writes characters and grief and depression continues to amaze me.

Parts with the desert seemed to drag but felt necessary. I found myself wanting to skip when she was lost but I recognize their parts in the narrative.
