Okay, I know this was a debut and HBY’s newer books are so good. This was extremely cheesy and fluffy - that’s not bad! The story deals with some heavier topics: substance abuse, adoption, fostering, deafness and disability, anger issues, narcissistic parents. BUT it does so with two characters who fall in love in .2 seconds and get hot and heavy on page. Don’t get me wrong - I am here for it! I enjoyed the found family aspect, and I love having characters that have been through a plethora of life experiences. It was cute and happy, and if you need that rn, this will fill your cup.
