One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus

3.0

I usually like YA books and this one was just ok. I may just be too far removed from that age group to have embraced this book. I thought that many of the actions and reactions of the teenagers were realistic and the story was believable. Five people in detention one afternoon and only four survive it. Which one is the guilty murderer? The mystery part was good and was not obvious from the start. The angst that accompanies life in high school seemed real and not overdone. I did find that the story dragged a bit in the middle and often found the switch from one voice to another a bit distracting. I often had to look back to see who was actually giving the commentary. Decent quick read
