”That's the point of it, Bryce. Of life. To live, to love, knowing that it might all vanish tomorrow. It makes everything that much more precious.”

ECHOING MYSELF AGAIN. I reread this AGAIN because I can’t let Bryce, Hunt and everyone else go. I refuse. This book is just as amazing as the first time I read it and I will accept zero judgement.

COME ON. WHAT THE HELL? Echoing a sentiment I shared a year ago when I first finished this book in the early hours of the morning. This book out of all of Sarah J Maas’s books that I’ve read so far, is my absolute favourite and I will never ever stop spreading my love about this book. House of Earth and Blood’s characters are so fleshed out and the world is absolutely amazing, I can’t believe I read a whole 800 pages of this. It wasn’t long enough. I’m glad to admit I’ll be picking up House of Sky and Breath IMMEDIATELY after finishing up this review. And I’m even more glad to know that the third instalment is coming out in January 2024. SO CLOSE!

I loved the friendship between Bryce, Danika and the Pack of Devils, even in the small about of pages they were featured in together before their deaths. You could see the bond there and the love, I enjoyed every minute. I also found that SJM’s depiction of Bryce and her grief to be really good, a solid show of what it would be like to lose someone akin to a sister.

This book just had so many twists, I loved the murder mystery type element it had in there, with Bryce and Hunt investigating not only the Pack of Devils murder but also what happened to Luna’s Horn. I got to see throughout how they began to get closer and more comfortable with each other. Enjoyable to see.

I also loved how many shocks there were at the end! I couldn’t keep up! Hunt being freed by Hypaxia, Bryce having the same power as her half-brother?? BRYCE MAKING THE DROP?? Danika shouting back to Bryce through the gates “Light it up”. This book just had so many emotional moments in it that made me nearly shed a tear or two.

Especially for Lebelah! Justice for her! Micah was an absolutely dick and got what he deserved, Bryce hoovering him up after killing him? Feminism. I couldn’t help but be shocked but also incredibly proud??
