The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
4.0
I was sceptical that this might not live up to the hype, but it was really good! Unnerving in that you can see how easily a society could take this kind of scary turn. Gets touted as a feminist book, but I think the 1984 vibes are much more important, although maybe that's partly because I knew vaguely what the concept was before I read it, so it didn't shock me as much.
