Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler

3.0

Sweetbitter was exactly that, vividly encapsulating the life and atmosphere of the book. It felt indulgent, all the characters having their own mysterious pasts and navigating their position in life & the service industry. I have never worked in the service industry, and I felt as though I learned a lot about the work - and by proxy things about food, wine, and the human experience. Admittedly I skimmed through a lot of the second half of the book, out of a bit of boredom but also a bit of anticipation for the ending. Overall I’d recommend it!
