A Perfect Evil by Alex Kava

3.0

Not great, 2.5 stars.

The heroine is a big-shot FBI profiler, with a failing marriage and emotional baggage from the killer who got away. The case involves a small town, man-whore sherrif with daddy issues; his sister, the unscrupulous newpaper reporter and inattentive single mom; big daddy who comes out of retirement to boss around his hapless offspring; the killer (lacking only a Law and Order style "bum-bum" sound every time he appears, so that we know he's the killer); and a supporting cast of #MeToo pervs. Complete with a hapless victim named Timmy - all we are missing is a dog to go get Timmy out of the well.
