Duplicity by A.J. Renee

4.0

Duplicity by A.J. Renee is the third book in the St. Fleur series. This can be read as a standalone book but I rather enjoyed it more because I had seen the main characters as minor characters in the first two books in the series. This story focuses on Jaime Lynn and Jessie. Jaime Lynn has a negative view of men in general. She thinks they are great but believes that she cannot count on one to stick around for any length of time. Jesse is from New Orleans and is new to St. Fleur. He is only wanting a little bit of peace after leaving his hometown. The two of them start off on the wrong foot due to a misunderstanding. Once the misunderstanding is resolved all bets are off. Can the two of them learn to trust and love again?
Jaime Lynn is great. She is a friend, a sister, and owns her own business. She is strong but also has some flaws. For her she has a hard time trusting people but especially men. Jesse is strong and handsome. He knows that he wants Jaime Lynn in his life but has his own issues he needs to come to terms with. Also, he has a difficult task of getting around Jaime Lynn’s walls. The two of them are strong and passionate. In the other books, there were hints of this blossoming relationship but it had always hit a wall. Now we get to enjoy the story and relationship of two great characters.
